What
As the name suggests, Tablebed is a multifunctional piece of furniture that serves as both a table and a bed. Their mission is to bring out the most of your living space without sacrificing functionality or comfort, and sought a design agency that could aid in mechanical development while maintaining premium looks.

Edea Design supported Tablebed with the mechanical development and fine-tuning of their easy and user-friendly folding mechanism, saving floors and lower backs alike from undue strain. Living 24/7
A table and a bed are two pieces of furniture that take up a significant amount of precious floorspace but are rarely used at the same time. Together with Tablebed, we designed a smart solution that combines a six-seated table and a double bed into one elegant piece of furniture.
From table to bed in 10 seconds
Tablebed had an idea about a table that would transform into a bed and back again. We helped them make the idea into reality by first creating a working mechanical solution and then giving it a timeless and functional design.
A quick transformation
Transforming the Tablebed from a table to a bed – or vice versa – needs just one person and takes no more than ten seconds. The mattress and the linen are conveniently stored within the bed, and the sealing on the top ensures that no breadcrumbs get in.
"One of the best inventions of 2021"
TIME magazine publishes an annual list of global, ground-breaking innovations. Tablebed was included in their shortlist, The Best Inventions of 2021.
“No living space is too small to host a dinner party when your bed doubles as a table”, writes TIME. “The Finnish-designed space savings innovation is perfect for the work from home era, allowing people to more easily live and work in the same space.”
