Towards a new era – Lundberg 60 series is a showcase of Finnish vehicle design

 

In Loimaa, Finland, a new generation of multipurpose machines is being created, combining Finnish design expertise, advanced technology, and close collaboration. The Lundberg 60 series is a perfect example of how bringing production and product development under one roof can lead to something entirely new — vehicle design that serves both the operator and the entire machine family.

 

A fresh start for the machine family

When Lännen Tractors made the strategic decision to move the production and product development of its Lundberg multipurpose machines from Sweden to Finland, it opened the door to an ambitious development project. Labour market challenges in northern Sweden accelerated the move, but more importantly, the company wanted to bring design and manufacturing closer together.

Relocating to Loimaa elevated the development process to an entirely new level, as product development, manufacturing, and Edea Design’s vehicle design expertise came together. The result is the Lundberg 60 series — a modern, versatile, and operator-focused machine family, designed to meet today’s needs and anticipate the demands of tomorrow.

Design that you can see and feel

Edea Design brought to the project its solid experience in vehicle design, where usability and aesthetics go hand in hand. The collaboration extended far beyond the surface; design was deeply integrated into the machine’s functionality and operator experience.

“Edea immediately understood our vision. They listened closely to our goals and challenged us creatively to think in new ways,” says Ville Pesonen, Product Development Manager at Lännen Tractors.

The operator environment was completely redesigned. The new cabin offers more space, improved visibility, and control layouts that support smooth and safe operation. Loader booms were shaped lower and wider to enhance the view forward, and a service-friendly engine hood simplifies daily maintenance tasks.

“Edea was genuinely involved throughout the entire development process. Their contribution is visible in every detail of the machine — from the smallest refinements to the overall concept,” Pesonen explains.
